Usher's mom is back being manager after the split up in 2007. Usher stated last year that he wanted her to focus on being his mom and being a grandmother. Earlier this year Usher told The Associated Press in an interview, "We have a different view and mind-set. I'm doing it and I'm handling it and very happy, very happy with it." Jonnetta Patton has managed her son's career since day one.
