Janet's Record Label Stops Promotion

Singer Janet Jackson is having a bit of a problem with her record label "Island Records" when it comes to promotion. They are refusing to promote her current album "Discipline" or anymore singles released off of the album. Janet states, "We started off with 'Feedback,' so they basically stopped all promotion. I'm trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don't think you're going to hear another single off this album. Unfortunately, things have turned out the way that they have with the differences between the label and myself."

I know this has to be disappointing for Janet, but she'll bounce back because she's Janet of course! I've heard some gossip that there is a lot more to this story besides her album not doing well, so I'll soon make a follow up post to this one. Well on the "better" side, Janet will kick off her Tour
"Rock Witchu" later this year. Tickets are now on sale. Tour dates coming soon!

Mims Is Back?

What the hell happen to Mims? His 2006 single "This Is Why I'm Hot" was a smash hit! He disappeared for a while and I honestly forgot about him. Well he's ready to release his sophomore album sometime this year.

According to an interview with Mims on hiphopgame.com Mims states, "I'm 100% focused on my music and I'm making sure the music is right for what the market wants and it's right for what I want and it's right for everything that comes along with the game. "I think the world is ready for another Mims record."

I'm not going to count this guy out I think he has some potential BUT I hope he will be just as successful as he was in the past, because if not he will just be added to the list of one-hit wonders!

Goodie Mob[Throwback Artists Of The Month]

Throwback artist of the month goes to hip hop group Goodie Mob! The group started up in Atlanta, Georgia in 1992. The group consist of members Khujo, Cee-Lo, T-Mo Goodie and Big Gipp. They made their first appearance on Outkast's first album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Goodie Mob's first album was released in 1995 titled "Soul Food" which later became a certified gold album. Upon releasing their 3rd album the group signed to Arista Records. Cee-Lo later left the group to go solo. The album flopped and they were dropped from Arista for poor album sales. The fourth album was released in 2004 titled "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show". It seems like they may have been very well referring to their former group member Cee-Lo with that title! Group member Big Gripp soon left the group, but he later returned. The last album "Livin' Life As Lumberjacks" was released in 2005. The group was set to have a reunion last year. Goodie Mob and the rest of the
Dungeon Family
played a big part in paving the way for all the hot artists you see coming out of Atlanta today.

R. Kelly[Artist Of The Month]

Lovenheartmusic's artist of the month goes to Robert Sylvester Kelly! Despite all the problems he is having in his personal life right now R. Kelly still remains to be one of the most successful and best selling artists in history. At the age of 41 he's accomplished a lot. He first hit the scene begin a part of the group Public Announcement. He eventually left the group in 1993 to pursue a solo career. Some of his biggest hits include "I believe I Can Fly", "Bump N Grind", "Down Low", "Trapped In The Closet" and numerous more. In the past he has also worked as a producer with artists such as Aaliyah and the duo Changing Faces. This year R. Kelly is planning to release a new album titled 12 Play: Fourth Quarter which features his new single "Hair Braider". R. Kelly maybe in the "hot seat" for some things he's done in the past as far as his personal life but lovenheartmusic only sees him as being one of the best r&b artists of all time!
